Church Board Update

Church Board Update
Two presentations were made at the Tuesday May 8th Board meeting, one on the Remits and one on Multi media and the use of screens in the sanctuary. After presenting the Remits, the Board unanimously voted to have the three doctrinal statements added to the Basis of Union. The other presentation on multimedia was received favourably; with the help of the Property and Faith &Worship committees, we will now develop an in-depth report which will be presented in the fall as part of a Board meeting or a Congregational meeting for approval. Rob Gilhooly, Chair.

The Church Board

The Church Board is inviting the congregation to attend the regular meeting of the Board on May 8th 2012 at 7:30pm. The following subjects will be discussed with one having to go to a vote that night
 Item 1
Remit 6: This is an important issue that all should understand. The document Our Words of Faith (which will be emailed out and/or copies available in the Church Office) will help you to understand the importance of the Remit. After a short presentation the Board will take questions and vote on the matter.
 Item 2
Upgrading the Church to have screens installed at the front (of the Sanctuary) for the purpose of projecting and enhancing portions of the Regular Sunday service. An upgrade to the Church sound system would be included. After a short presentation; discussion will follow regarding what further action will be taken. Rob Gilhooly, Chair

Benevolent Fund

Benevolent Fund: As Chair of the Official Board, we want to thank everyone who contributes to the Benevolent Fund. It is used to help families in need within the congregation and sometimes people who are known to be in need in our community. We usually give out food vouchers or cash when someone is in dire circumstances. We want you to know that if anyone approaches you with a need that you should direct that person to the minister to discuss ways to help. Your stewardship is deeply appreciated. Rob Gilhooly

SOCKS Support(s)

Don't forget that the youth group is
collecting new or gently used bras for the girls at Covenant
House Orphanage in Kenya. Bring your donations to the
Church office before Easter Sunday. Thank you for helping us
to continue to support the SOCKS project."
